“As our keynote speaker, Trevor Corson kept more than 300 fidgety high school students, their teachers, and university faculty engrossed with his engaging and informative presentation. What people have to say:
Venues where Trevor Corson has entertained audiences:
Trevor has lectured at some of America’s premier venues, including the National Press Club, the National Geographic Society in Washington D.C., and the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and has addressed audiences in corporate, conference, institutional, educational, restaurant-industry, and private-club settings. He has also taught and discussed the craft of writing at Harvard University’s Nieman Conference, the Key West Literary Seminar, and the University of Memphis MFA program, as well as at a variety of colleges and high schools. Scroll down for details.
Trevor Corson gives presentations as “The Lobster Sex Guy,” and, in conjunction with sushi chefs and restaurants, as America’s only “Sushi Concierge.” He also presents an enjoyable, general-interest talk based on all his work, entitled “Sexy Lobster, Succulent Sushi: My favorite facts about underwater bugs, raw fish, and the future of our oceans.”
Drawing on his expertise as a bestselling author and professional journalist, as well as his background as a former commercial fisherman, Trevor puts his obsessions with quirky science, weird food, and good writing to use to entertain while educating.
A public speaker with extensive experience, Trevor can captivate an audience of several hundred college freshmen in a campus auditorium, or a group of lawyers and executives in a private room at an elegant sushi restaurant. His audiences always leave with a newfound appreciation for the wondrous world of the seas and an empowering sense that their choices in life—whether to major in marine biology or just to order better fish at the sushi bar—can make a difference.

TEACHING
When visiting a university or school, Trevor often combines a public speech with visits to classrooms to talk about his international career with students. Trevor discusses ways to bridge the gap between science and the public through storytelling, as well as his approach to the craft of nonfiction writing and the ins and outs of getting published. He also discusses how the experience of living abroad and learning foreign languages led to his approach, shaping his perspective on the world in the process.
Trevor also teaches group workshops and is available for individual consultations. For more information,
