The Secret Life of Lobsters reads a bit like a novel, with action, dialogue, and flashbacks, but the book is documentary nonfiction and the drama it depicts really happened. The characters in The Secret Life of Lobsters are all real people who appear in the book with their real names. The events in the book actually occurred, and I witnessed many of them myself and conducted extensive interviews and documentary research so that I could tell the story as accurately as possible.
